Hercules and the Golden Apples

King Eurystheus wants the golden apples of the Hesperides, guarded by a hundred-headed dragon in a garden at the edge of the world. But nobody knows the way. Hercules catches Nereus, the shape-changing old man of the sea, wrestles the giant Antaeus, frees Prometheus from his chains, and at last holds up the whole sky for the Titan Atlas… who doesn't want it back.

The eleventh of twelve bedtime tales that follow the real Greek myths of the Twelve Labours of Hercules, told in simple words for children aged 5 to 8, with a calm narrator, soft evening sounds and a quiet ending under the stars.
